Return and Exchange policy

We accept returns for store credit!

Most special occasion stores (both internet and retail locations) refuse to accept returns on dresses for Special Occasions - including Prom (a "Special Occasion" dress is one that usually worn once for an extra-special-one-time-event).  Here at PromGirl, we have listened to our customers and we do accept returns for store credit for a few reasons.

  1. We realize that even with best intentions in estimating your size and viewing the dress online, there may be instances that the item purchased is not as expected. We want to be able to give you an opportunity to get a dress that is as good as you expect.
  2. We want you to be completely 100% satisfied with your purchase. Our dresses are for special events, and we want you to feel you have the perfect dress for your important day.
  3. We are confident that you will be able to find that perfect dress because we have the largest stock of prom dresses online and thousands of styles to choose from. 

Although there IS a 10% re-stocking fee on each order, we are sure you can find a replacement dress. We also offer shoes and other accessories that store credit may be applied to. 


HOW TO RETURN AN ITEM
If for any reason you are not completely satisfied with your purchase you may return your merchandise for store credit on the price of the item minus a 10% restocking fee.  Due to the seasonal nature of our merchandise, you must contact us within 5 days of receiving your order for a return authorization number. Merchandise must be postmarked within 5 days of receiving a return authorization number from us. 


HOW TO EXCHANGE AN ITEM

If you would like to exchange an item for any reason you must return the original item to us per our return policy above. Once the returned item is received and thoroughly inspected, you will be issued the appropriate store credit in accordance with our return policy. Once you receive your store credit code you will need to place a new order.


IMPORTANT RESTRICTIONS

  • You have 5 days to return your item. Any returns or exchanges postmarked after 5 days of your receipt date and/or missing a return authorization number will be returned to you at your shipping expense.
  • The dress must be unworn and in the same condition you received it. Any items returned to us without original tags in place, that appear to have been worn, washed, altered, stained, with odors (i.e. cigarette smoke) or that have been tampered with in any way will not receive credit in any form.
  • You have to send it back. Customers are responsible for return shipping fees via their carrier of choice, provided they receive a valid tracking number for proof of return.
  • If you do not accept the item being returned to you, you will not receive credit of any kind.
  • All merchandise is thoroughly inspected both before leaving our warehouse and before being accepted by our returns department to assure the quality of the dresses we receive.


NON-RETURNABLE / NON-REFUNDABLE ITEMS

We accept returns on ALL of our product lines.  Unlike our competitors, there are no "designer exclusions" or "special order requirements" based on manufacturer.  The only exceptions are below.

  1. Final Sale Items cannot be returned or exchanged.  Items that are final sale are as follows: sale items, items marked final sale/no returns.
  2. Fashion cups, stay up tape, swimsuits and lingerie are non-returnable.


USING STORE CREDIT

Store credit is valid for one year after the issue date. Store credit may be used only for purchasing merchandise and does not count toward shipping costs. If you would like to use store credit along with a coupon, please contact a customer service representative to assist you. 
To redeem your store credit, when checking out, enter the store credit code in the box that says code and press the “Use Gift Certificate” button to apply the code. You will see the new adjusted price once the code is applied.


RESTOCKING FEES

There is a 10% restocking fee per item for all returns and/or exchanges.


RETURN AUTHORIZATION REQUEST

To receive your return authorization number please go to www.promgirl.com/returns and fill out the return authorization request form. Make sure you have added PromGirl.com and Simplydresses.com to your email address book to insure you receive our email with your return authorization number. Please put “Return Authorization Number Issued” on the outside of the box.
